A 19th-century inn where families are welcome. Nathan and Kirsty took over in 2019 and it remains a community pub. Well known for its good food, including shepherds pie and lasagne and excellent Sunday roasts. The pensioners' weekday lunch is also very popular. As well as its regular ales, including a locally brewed beer from West Berkshire Brewery, it serves two other guest beers that change every fortnight. Local cider from Pang Valley is occasionally available. A range of 20 gins is available. Monday is quiz night (no meals served) and a meat raffle is held on Friday. Some artwork on the walls by young local artists is available for sale. There is a TV for sporting events mounted near the dartsboard at the back of the pub. A temporary ramp is available for the side entrance to cater for customers in wheelchairs.
