See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

A perennial gem with the only Heritage Pub Interior in Berkshire. Its name refers to bells which were part of the coat of arms of the traditional landowners. The large open garden and excellent beer attracts walkers and drinkers from far and wide. The pub is well known for its hot soups and filled rolls, ploughman's platters and hot puddings. Warm bread rolls with a variety of fillings and garnishes are served on basketwork trays after ordering at the bar. Tutts Clump and Lilley's ciders are always available. A long-standing GBG entry and a former National (1990, 2019), Regional and Branch CAMRA Pub of the Year. Closed Mondays except open bank holiday Monday lunchtimes only. Card payment accepted, but cash is preferred.
